Description

MacGillichalum of Razay is an ancient Scottish folk hero. He's a witch hunter who was renowned throughout the land, and will appear in waterhorse, my webcomic [link]

I took a picture my friend Bob took in Ireland and added more contrast and took the saturation down to -76 for the background. MacGillichalum I drew looking at a picture of Bill Nighy, one of the greatest actors. It's funny because he kind of looks like the Diablo II necromancer, and the other day my cousin said "If there was a Diablo movie, Bill Nighy would be the necro" and I guess he was dead on. I even drew the classic Necro's pauldron with the horn and the teeth (note: :iconmrbob0822: will probably correct the spelling on pauldron, or point out what that piece of armor is actually called. Do it Kev, you know you want to. And I encourage it, because it keeps me from looking stupid if I fix it!)

I got these books on folklore, which to me is the most interesting thing the world has to offer because it binds everything we as humans believe together somehow, because traditions last and get woven together with new traditions, it's amazing to find the origins of things in ancient folklore. They're the original stories, the first ones.

Actually, you spelled pauldron correctly and used it in the proper context.

Some people call them "spaulders", though both are perfectly acceptable because they mean the same thing.

For those who have no clue to armor components(SHAME!), they're typically called "shoulders" or just "shoulder armor".

His armor looks great! I just wish it were a little bigger so I could see it in greater detail. :3
